The first single from The Presets highly anticipated new album Pacifica is the mighty ‘Youth In Trouble’. A percolating, beastly techno number that grows until it blows, ‘Youth In Trouble’ is a perfectly seething introduction to Pacifica. Remixes come from the percolator himself Green Velvet, who takes the already deep original into an even deeper, subterranean acid cave in a wonderfully entrancing fashion. The Finger Prince & Light Year up the jack and offer a bubbling, writhing techno extension, while Alex Metric goes big and bold with a devastating break and searing bassline.
The Presets’ long-awaited return, Pacifica, will be released this September 17 on Modular Recordings.
Featuring ten prismatic, synth-laced songs, Pacifica sees The Presets boldly venture into new, uncharted musical territories. Traversing both light and shade in energy and emotion, the album was produced by the band – Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes – and mixed in Los Angeles with Tony Hoffer.
