Picture Book – In My Head [Free Download]
Following their critically acclaimed debut release, ‘At Last’, Picture Book release their second EP, ‘Songs About Aimee’ on 15th October via Picture Book Records.
Ahead of the release they’ve generously offered up lead single In My Head for free download. The track, a near perfect piece of modern day pop, explores those things you should never say out loud and wraps them in a deeply infectious melody. Like all tracks off the EP it was written and produced by Picture Book and mixed by house legend Tony Senghore, giving it a crisp finish and feel.
Picture Book are brothers Dario Darnell and Lorne Ashley, born in New York City, raised in Manchester. Dario and Lorne inherited a love of song writing and performing from their father August Darnell, lead singer of the legendary Kid Creole & The Coconuts.
Picture Book have enjoyed something of a whirlwind year. Alongside their debut release, which gained support from the likes of Radio One and XFM, before hitting the top ten on Hype Machine, they’ve played a number of shows in conjunction with the Olympic Torch Relay Events. The band’s unique show and ‘aLive’ concept, which sees them remix and rework songs on the fly, caught the eye of Coca Cola and they’ve been busy re-interpreting Mark Ronson and Katy B’s track ‘Anywhere in The World’ up and down the country, culminating at the massive Hyde Park event where they performed to 80,000 people and shared the stage with the likes of Katy B, Dizzee Rascal and The Wanted.
